The website is owned by Doctors Club Ltd. (DCL) a company registered in England and Wales (Company number 10337209). DCL is the data controller and responsible for your personal data. DCL has appointed a data protection officer (DPO) who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this privacy notice.


We handle data exclusively for and on behalf of our members. Our members are exclusively doctors registered with the GMC, active or retired, licensed to practise or not, based in the UK or not, and medical students studying in UK medical schools.


In the course of business, it is necessary for us to collect data. This information allows us to identify who you are for the purposes of our business, share data when asked of us, contact you in the ordinary course of business and transact with you.


The type of information we collect is:


Personal Information such as your name, location, date of birth, photograph, passport, driver’s license, student card and other information that allows us to identify who you are and that you are eligible for membership of our club.


Professional Information such as whether you are a medical doctor or medical student, whether you are licensed to practice or not, whether you are active or retired, your current grade, your speciality and sub-speciality interests, your location and other such information that allows members to contact each other using our On Call service. 

 
Contact Information such as your email address, mobile and/or landline telephone number, residential and work address, and other such information that allows us to contact you. We collect your e-mail address, residential and work address to allow members to contact you using our On Call service.


Device Information such as the hardware model, operating system version, advertising identifier, unique application identifiers, unique device identifiers, browser type, language, wireless network, and mobile network information (including the mobile phone number) that allows us to ensure that our website functions efficiently for our members.


Profile Information such as your password and the messages you send using our On Call service.


Usage Data such as information about how you use our website.

 

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.


We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone who is not eligible to be a member. Our website and services are exclusively directed to our members. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from someone who is not eligible to be a member, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about someone who is not eligible to be a member, please contact us using the contact details at the end of this privacy document.


We will not disclose or sell your data to unrelated third parties under any circumstances unless we employ other companies to perform tasks on our behalf and we need to share your information with them to provide products and services to you. We licence our software from a partner, Club Funding Ltd. (CFL) a company registered in England and Wales (Company number 10335295). During the period of the licence CFL is responsible for storing and processing your information as laid out in this privacy document. In the event of a termination of the licence agreement between DCL and CFL, all personal and activity data on the DCL members would be returned to DCL and deleted from the CFL data base (subject to legal and/or regulatory compliance).

We will take all reasonable precautions to protect your data from unauthorised access by ensuring CFL security include:

  • Firewalls

  • Intrusion detection systems

  • Physical protection of premises where data is stored (24/7)

  • Reputable cloud service providers for offsite storage and processing of data


You have the right at any time to cancel your membership of Doctors Club and to request that information held on you by DCL is erased (subject to legal and/or regulatory compliance).
