Dr Faris Almallah is a Consultant Radiologist at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, Birmingham, with special interest in cross sectional radiology, uro-radiology and skeletal and joint ultrasound scan. On his appointment in 2010 he took up the mission of establishing the Cardiac CT service in the department. He was successfully selected for a fellowship by the European Society of Cardiac Radiology to train on different modalities of cardiac imaging at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland training in 2011.
Dr Almallah had his basic medical training 1997-2003 at Colchester, UK and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2003. He is a member of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and trained in Radiology at Newcastle, Birmingham and Oxford UK. He trained in cross-sectional and non-vascular intervention in Uroradiology at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospital Birmingham. He did a post FRCR fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology including Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and joint injection at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre NHS Trust, Oxford 2008/2009. He was the Chair of Local Negotiating Committee at Walsall hospital and Chair of Executive Committee of Birmingham Division of the British Medical Association, and is a member of the British Society of Cardiac Imaging, British Society of Urogenital Radiology (BSUR) and European Society of Radiology (ESR). He has published and presented at national and international meetings. He is enthusiastic on service development and provision of high quality radiology service as well as keen on teaching and e-learning.
